Last weekend I did a mini photo shoot for a friend named Lorna (seen in the purple dress below). She's a Karamojong who works for another NGO but who aspires to open her own fashion business where she can design and sell dresses, outfits, jewelry and other girly things. She did a small fashion show about a month back at one of our social events and I wanted to help her out with some promotional photography for when she gets things set up. So we went in my backyard as the afternoon golden light shown on our mountain and I snapped away. No idea what I was doing, but it was fun. I got a new 60D when I was home last month and it has a great wireless flash feature that triggers an external speedlite. Again, no idea how it worked, but I figured out how to get my 580ex to speak to the 60D and away we went. Some really cool lighting and a great background, plus some fun girls in cool dresses. It made for a pretty fun afternoon in Moroto. Here's a few highlights.
