quick blog.
Yesterday I worked 14 hours. I slept for 6 and it's back to it at 6:15. I'm pretty wrecked. But.... I am going on vacation today! I fly down to Kampala then jump on a plane for Nepal. Bags are packed (though I can't really remember what is in there- late night). I'm going to meet up with a Nepalese friend of mine who works in Moroto for another NGO. We'll tour around Khathmandu for a day then I head up to the mountains to do some serious hiking. I'm very excited for the adventure and the new scenery. Yesterday I was in the field for 7 hours, jammed in my single cab pick up, bouncing around like crazy enduring some terrible BO from a staff member. Needless to say, it was a long day that was near my breaking point for me being done with Africa. But nothing can keep me down because I have 3 hours til my first of 4 flights.
Nepal is going to be a bit of a retreat for me. I need a break from Africa. I need to figure out a few things. When I get back I need to decide if I want to spend another year in Karamoja. Tough call and I am still 50/50. I turn 27 next week. Birthdays always allow for reflection. Is this how I thought the year would go? What will be different for next year? What changes need to be made? etc.
Join me in prayer for rest, discernment and restoration as I disappear in the Himalayas for 2 weeks. Pray that I don't die of altitude sickness.
