Today in devotions we went through John 16. Jesus is about to be arrested and crucified so he's sharing his last few parting words with his gang. Verse 23 reads, "...I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name...Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete."
Today, I ask that you join me in the praying for the following:
Peace in Karamoja and Uganda.
This month (February) Uganda elects their politial leaders for the next 5 years, including the president. Politics is a tricky subject in Africa. Pray for a peaceful, honest and transparent election and that God through his people will appoint the right leadership for Uganda. Pray against violence, rioting or politically related upheaval. Pray Uganda doesn't become the next Tunisia or Egypt.
Pray for peace in Karamoja. There has been an increase in violence as of late. Pray for safety and peace for the region. I feel safe but as always, pray for the safety of our staff as we go to the field every day.
Lastly, I am considering moving and finding a home to rent. Homes are tough to find and are in short supply. Pray that God will show me a place and make it clear that it should be my home for the next 11 month.
Time has flown, it's already been almost a month and I am still happy to be here. I get to help people, ride my mountain bike, drive awesome trucks (left hand drive...very weird still) and watch Manchester United play every weekend. What more does a man need? Ice cream but that can happen in 5 weeks when I am back in Kampala.
What do you need to ask God for? When is the last time you did ask? Is your joy complete?
