This week has been a week full of meetings and training sessions designed to familiarize myself with the organization and to prepare me for the field. I've really been impressed by how organized and well the week has gone. Here's a few highlights:
- Morning Devotions and Prayer. All the staff (4-500) get together and start the day of praying for the field staff. Every member serving overseas has a prayer card and is prayed for daily. That will include me!
- Dedication to Quality. Everything is nice. Buildings are beautiful, grounds are well maintained and each department is top notch. So nice to see such commitment to excellence in a Christian Ministry.
- SP is serious. They have many projects in many regions in many countries and they are doing some pretty great stuff. They have a great ability to "ramp up" in times of crisis such as Haiti where they got staff/ materials on the ground in just a few days when many other organizations were far behind. They have spent millions and now have over 80 staff members there.
Adam! SO exciting! I've added you to my prayer list. I pray that you will be a blessing to everyone you are in contact with. Samaritan's Purse! They do Operation Christmas Child right? We run that at my church every year!!
ReplyDeleteMany Blessings to you!
Happy Day!
